That’s right, trainers! Niantic has just announced that a new function named AdventureSync will be released in the near future, with the actual date still to be confirmed.
Its main objective is to use some of your device’s characteristics and apps to correctly record the distance you have covered, even without opening Pokémon GO! This will definitely be a must have in order to optimize getting candies for your Pokémon buddy and opening eggs.
This function will have a weekly report about your incubator and the candies’ progress, besides other activity statistics. In general, it will allow you to:
- See the quantity of walked kilometers
- Get rewards for milestones
- Get push notifications when your buddy finds a candy or an egg is about to open
You will be able to enable AdventureSync at any point and it will connect to different functions in your device, such as GoogleFit on Android or Health on iOS.
It’s important to point out that it is very likely that Niantic will use Adventure Sync to find and penalize those who use spoof techniques, so if you are one of them, you have been warned. After all, you may use an app to look as if you are in another part of the world, but if your device is like “Nu-huh, we haven’t even moved from the bed!”…
