Diamond Comic Distributors, the world’s largest distributor of English-language comic books, graphic novels, and pop culture merchandise, announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Clover Press to exclusively distribute their products to comic book specialty store markets worldwide. Diamond was also awarded the rights to exclusively distribute Clover Press’ new releases to the North American book market under the banner of its sister company, Diamond Book Distributors.
Located in San Diego, California, Clover Press is a boutique publishing company focused on graphic novels and prose books. Headed by IDW founders Ted Adams and Robbie Robbins, the company is looking forward to working with established creators on original graphic novels and a series of prose books featuring new covers and illustrations by some of the best artists working in the comics field.
“Ted and I have worked with Diamond for over 20 years and we’re glad to be able to continue that relationship with our new publishing company. You’ll see a lot of familiar names in our publishing schedule and we’re looking forward to sharing our books with the world,” said Clover Press President, Robbie Robbins.
Creators who have projects in the works with Clover Press include Kevin Eastman, Jonathan Maberry, Craig & Clizia Yoe, Charles Holland, Sara Richard, Steve Niles, Damien Worm, Arvind Ethan David, Eric Shanower, Shaun Harris, Erik Burnham, John K. Clover’s first book, The Royal Book of Oz, will ship in April 2020. An all-new edition of the classic novel by Ruth Plumly Thompson features a cover, new Oz maps, and six new illustrations by Eisner Award nominated artist, Sara Richard. Oz historian Eric Shanower, an Eisner Award winning writer and artist, is providing an afterword that provides biographical information on Thompson and an overview of how she came to write the book.
“We are delighted at the opportunity to work with Clover Press and foresee great market potential for their books,” said Diamond Vice President of Purchasing, Tim Lenaghan. “Their continued effort to provide top-quality products is an asset we value, and we’re greatly looking forward to working with them to promote and sell their line of books.”
