Uno de los creadores de la edad de oro, el estuvo cuando emitieron el primer comic, cuando los héroes lucharon contra los nazis, cuando la censura casi acaba el negoció, vio nacer verdaderos iconos, Wildcat, “Green Lantern” y claro Batman.
Bill era un hombre humilde y un artista de corazón nunca le importo el dinero ni la fama, el solo quería escribir historias, buenas historias, por desgracia hubo personas que se aprovecharon de el, no reconocieron su invaluable aporte a el Bati-verso y al comic hasta que fue tarde, eso personalmente me ofende.
Bill es uno de tantos héroes en las sombras de los que se van en silencio, artistas no reconocidos por su trabajo, pero gracias a personas como Jerry Robinson eso está siendo corregido, se crean los “Bill Finger awards” un premio con su nombre, DC comics empezó a darle crédito en las apariciones de Batman y la ciudad de New York le puso su nombre a una calle, nada mal para un vendedor de zapatos.

DISTINCIONES:
Fue homenajeado en varias ocasiones, con una máquina de escribir gigante incluida en varias historias, como Batman: Strange Apparitions, Batman: Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?, “An Innocent Man”, en Batman: Black & White de 1997.
En 1985, DC Comics nombró a Bill como uno de los galardonados en la publicación del 50 aniversario de la compañía “Fifty Who Made DC Great”.
Fue incluido en el Salón de la Fama de Jack Kirby en 1994, actualmente premios Harvey, y en el Salón de la Fama Will Eisner en 1999.
En su honor, Comic-Con International estableció en 2005 el Premio Bill Finger a la Excelencia en la Escritura de Cómics, que se otorga anualmente a “dos destinatarios, uno vivo y otro fallecido, que han realizado un gran aporte de trabajo al arte del cómics.
Recibió el premio Inkpot en 2014.
2015 es honrado con una estrella en el paseo de la fama de Hollywood.
El 8 de diciembre de 2017, la esquina sureste de East 192nd Street y Grand Concourse en el Bronx se llamó “Bill Finger Way”. La esquina fue elegida por su proximidad a “Poe Park”, donde Finger y Kane solían reunirse para hablar sobre su personaje de Batman.
