Xenon Racer, Futuristic Arcade Racing Game

It’s the year 2030. In an era of flying vehicles, a one-off championship for traditional wheel based vehicles has been organized, with cutting edge electric cars boosted by Xenon gas, resulting in crazy speeds. Drift through cities, boost to absurd speeds and become the ultimate Xenon Racer!

I tried this game myself and the graphics are pretty awesome. It took me back to when I would be in an arcade playing racing games but more advanced. The game is colorful, futuristic and fun. You get to drive in so many places like Canada, France and Japan (who wouldn’t want to go to those places). This Rated E game does attract everyone. While I was testing the game my 4-year-old niece was enchanted by the game and wanted to play herself. Maybe I’ll play the offline split-screen with her, so we can race against each other. As I was going through all the tabs of the game, I found out it has over 20 different languages you can set it on. I thought it was awesome of them to do this. Most games only limit it to a few languages.

My personal opinion, I would rate this game a 9 out of 10. It is an exhilarating game, with beautiful graphics and the music puts you in the zone of the race. The cars are curvy and sporty, you may say, of course, it’s a racing game! Well, I have to tell you, I have played racing games where the cars were not very beautiful, curvy, and sporty cars. The game is like all other arcade racing games, you compete, race and try to be the best. But, it does have more of a story than that which explains the game a bit more. To me, for the game to have a story isn’t necessary.

The reason why I didn’t score it a full 10 is because of the following. In the tutorial, there was a moment where I had to press every button on my keyboard to figure out which button I was supposed to press, in order to move the camera to look behind.  Also, when I tried to play the offline split screen, it was confusing. The first 3 attempts, I wasn’t able to play it. The way I figured it out was to plug in 2 USB controllers to my PC. I wish it gave you an option to use only one keyboard for both players to play. So if you don’t have 2 controllers then you won’t be able to play with a friend offline. I know those reasons are not too big of a deal but it did affect my decision.

If you get the game, I hope you like it and have fun!

*When I was going through the tutorial on my PC, the NONE key for me was the arrow keys. I thought it might be helpful to others who are playing on a PC.
