A few months ago, we introduced you to RYFT, a fast-paced and action-packed Trading Card Game (TCG) that revolutionizes the genre. We are thrilled to announce that the RYFT website is now live, offering pre-orders for the highly anticipated Golden Alliance Booster Boxes and Battleboxes! Let’s revisit some key aspects of the game we previously reviewed. RYFT, created by James Olley from Norwich, UK, sets itself apart by blending elements from various sources. The game revolves around summoning beings and activating code cards in a battle zone, requiring players to strategically manage their resources. The deck comprises 40 cards, including beings and code cards, with a maximum of three copies of each card.

At the start of the game, both players draw five cards and have the option to reset their starting hand once. The turn structure consists of the draw stage, summon stage, battle stage, and end stage. Players begin with five synergy, which is used to summon beings and activate code cards. Any excess synergy beyond zero is transferred to the opponent, adding an exciting element of resource management.

RYFT introduces a tribute system where specific materials listed in the beings’ material box are used to summon them. Additionally, matrix cards, unique code cards placed in the battle zone, can unlock secret abilities when connected with summoned beings. The game’s lore centers around the breakdown of RYFTs between universes, allowing different domains to merge. This includes Avalore, an Arthurian world with futuristic technology.
