Indie TCG – Pantheon A deck building game of mythic proportions.

Hello, Indie TCG enthusiasts! We hope you’re doing well and ready for some exciting news. Last time, we brought you updates on Good Nerd Bad Nerds and the expansion of “The Treasure of Montecristo Island.” Today, we’re thrilled to share that Pantheon, a game from the Good Nerd Bad Nerd Kickstarter campaign, has been launched. You can check it out on Kickstarter at this link: Pantheon Kickstarter.

What is Pantheon?

Pantheon is a simultaneous deck builder designed for two players. In this game, you’ll have the opportunity to choose your Pantheon, collect followers and artifacts, use actions and special deity powers, all with the aim of gaining the most favor among humans throughout the game’s year. The first Pantheon to reach 5 points will reign supreme.

All game phases are synchronized, and each player can purchase cards from their unique deck or a shared common deck.

During gameplay, you’ll need to strike a balance between SILVER and favor-generating cards, as well as ACTION cards that can give you an advantage or hinder your opponent. Depending on your strategy, Deity card abilities could be the key to winning the most favor in a given year, so choose your gods carefully.

What’s Included in the Starter Game:

  • 1 Tracker Board
  • 1 Aztec Scoring Disk (orange)
  • 1 Egyptian Scoring Disk (green)
  • 1 Season Tracker
  • 50 Silver Cubes
  • 20 Large Silver Cubes
  • 1 Devotion Deck (22 Cards)
  • 1 Aztec Pantheon Deck (30 Cards)
  • 1 Egyptian Pantheon Deck (30 Cards)

How Does Pantheon Gameplay Work?

Pantheon offers a unique gaming experience because it’s a simultaneous deck builder, meaning both players complete each phase at the same time and must agree to move on to the next phase. This creates an engaging pace and flow in the game.

Each season in Pantheon is divided into 5 phases:

  1. Drawing Cards: Both players draw up to 5 cards. If their draw deck is empty, they must reshuffle their graveyard to continue drawing cards.
  2. Generating Silver: Both players gather SILVER based on any silver-generating cards they have on their field. Their current score will also indicate how much bonus silver a player will receive each season — one silver for every square under their scoring disk.
  3. Purchasing Cards: Both players may decide to purchase cards from either the Devotion Deck or from their specific pantheon deck, or they can choose to reveal and activate the top card of their DEITY DECK.
  4. Playing Cards: Both players can spend SILVER to play Follower and Artifact cards to their field, and ACTION CARDS may also be played.

The Summer season features an additional phase:

  1. Season Advance: The season tracker moves forward one space. Favor is tallied, and points are received. Everyone must calculate their silver based on cards played to their field. There are rules in place to handle ties in points.

Before advancing to the next FALL SEASON, move the top card of your Deity Deck to the bottom of that deck and flip over the next card to reveal which of your Pantheon Deities will be assisting you this year.
