Iniciamos la semana con una mala noticia. La actriz Kelly Preston ha dejado de existir, luego de luchar por 2 años contra el cáncer de seno que le aquejaba. Así lo anunció su viudo, el tambien actor John Travolta:

It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many. My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side. Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. All my love, JT

Preston, cuyo verdadero nombre era Kelly Kamalelehua Smith inició su carrera en los 80 y protagonizó películas como:

Space Camp

Twins (Gemelos)

For The Love of the Game

Pero uno de sus roles más destacados fue como la prometida de Jerry Maguire en la película del mismo nombre:

Pasaron los años y sus papeles eran principalmente de la mamá de quien protagonizaba la película como en:

The Cat in the Hat

What a Girl Wants

Y otro papel que muchos recordarán es como la superheroina Jetstream en Sky High (Súper Escuela de Héroes)

Y si aun así no la ubicas, porque eres fan de la música pero no del cine, ella protagoniza el video musical de “She Will be Loved” de Maroon 5

Respecto a premios, el único que ganó fue un Razzie a peor actriz de reparto por Battlefield Earth, una película insufrible protagonizada por su marido.

Como ven, fue una actriz que viste en muchos lados, pero tal vez nos abías su nombre, eso sucede con muchos actores que al morir dices “aaaah, ella/el era”. Descanse en paz.
