Welcome, Indie TCG enthusiasts! Today, we will review Altered TCG. This game promises a paradigm shift in how we approach trading card games, and it’s already making waves. Today is just a glimpse of what we will review in the coming days. We haven’t delved into the gameplay details just yet.
At the heart of Altered’s innovation is its digital integration. While not an NFT-based game, Altered securely stores cards on the Equinox server. Players can scan their cards and print any digitally owned card on demand, ensuring the safety of their collections. The game creators are also exploring the digital market for card trading and exclusive collectibles to enhance gameplay.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Altered is a TCG set in a richly crafted universe influenced by the works of Miyazaki and adorned with Dixit-like illustrations. It centers on a reshaped Earth after a mysterious event, the Tumult, altered the planet’s very essence.
Players embark on expeditions, shaping their own adventures within this ever-changing world. Altered introduces a new rarity system, intricate lore, innovative game mechanics, and a seamless digital experience that elevates gameplay.
This game, conceived by the visionary game designer Régis Bonnessée (founder of Libellud studio), is brought to life by the French studio Equinox in partnership with Asmodee.
When can you get your hands on Altered? The game is set to launch on Kickstarter in February 2024 and will be showcased live at Gencon 2024. Official retail release is planned for August 2024.
Availability won’t be limited either. Altered will be accessible in the USA and EU, with Canada likely to follow. Your local game stores and other distribution channels will stock it.
Languages? Initially, the Kickstarter version will be in English, with retail releases in English (confirmed), and potentially French and Italian.
Exciting opportunities to play Altered will be revealed in the coming months, so be sure to follow their social media channels for updates. The Altered journey is just beginning, and there’s much more to explore in this captivating TCG universe. Join the conversation on their Discord, Facebook, and Instagram to stay in the loop. Get ready to embark on a TCG adventure like no other!
