Hi Indie TCG Lovers! It’s hard to believe that it has been over two years since the journey of reviewing Indie TCGs began. Along the way, incredible games have stood the test of time, while others have faded away. Today, we want to take a moment to talk about one of the first TCGs we ever pledged for: Alpha Clash. This game holds a special place in our hearts and has proven to be a fantastic selection.
Alpha Clash is a superhero-themed trading card game that transports players into the captivating Alpha Clash universe, which is also the basis for a novel and comic book series. What sets Alpha Clash apart is its unique twist on mechanics borrowed from other games, resulting in a fresh and engaging gameplay experience. The combination of original and popular game mechanics ensures that players from all TCG backgrounds will find something familiar yet refreshing in Alpha Clash.
The creators of Alpha Clash have poured their expertise and passion into crafting a game that will continue to captivate players for years to come. One of the creators, Ridge, is a former collegiate and international wrestler who previously worked as a Strength & Conditioning Coach for a world-renowned circus company. Ridge is not only a player and collector of Dragon Ball Super, Magic: The Gathering, and Pokémon TCGs but also a visionary who is using his knowledge and experience in the card world to build a dynamic and fun competitive card game.
The inception of Alpha Clash came about during the midst of the pandemic, and since then, it has blossomed into the vast and immersive Alpha Clash Universe. There are numerous aspects to love about this game, but one that truly stands out is the dedication of its creators to crafting a rich lore. This dedication is evident in the graphic novel “The Awakening” and the accompanying novel, which provide a deeper dive into the lore that accompanies the TCG.
In a short span of time, Alpha Clash has already released three sets, and our personal favorite, “Year of the Dragon,” which is designed specifically for draft play. This game invests heavily in organized play, recognizing its importance as a fundamental pillar of any successful TCG.
