Hello Indie TCG lovers, today, we are talking again about Chrono Core which is not your typical trading card game; it’s a fresh and exciting experience that stands out in the gaming universe. Unlike common “Monster Battle” or “Commander” style games, Chrono Core allows players to pilot their mechs, making it a truly engaging experience. Players can either grab a pre-constructed deck or build their own from scratch, choosing a Pilot and matching their Core to the chassis type. With options for lightweight, mid-weight, or heavy-weight configurations, players can select equipment cards, weapons, and support cards that fit their play style. This versatility is one of the reasons I love the game—it offers various gameplay options, especially the solo player mode, which is one of my favorites!
The game has been in development since 2019 and entered full public testing in the Spring of 2024. After attending GenCon and gathering fantastic feedback, the team has been working diligently to refine the card layouts and wording to enhance multiplayer experience. With 90% of the artwork completed and packaging layouts in progress, fans eagerly await the final launch.
What truly sets Chrono Core apart is its unique resource system. Instead of using lands or cards from your hand as resources, players start with three equipment cards—Visor, Gauntlets, and Greaves—that generate resource points. This innovative approach keeps gameplay dynamic and strategic, allowing players to unleash powerful cards and combos.
As a fan, I’m particularly excited about the upcoming solo and co-op mode, which will incorporate cards from the base TCG as well as new ones. This mode promises wave-based encounters and a campaign experience where players can buy and improve their decks as they progress.
For those eager to dive in, Chrono Core can be tested on Tabletop Simulator, giving players a chance to experience the game firsthand. With its engaging mechanics and stunning artwork, I’ll be keeping a close eye on the launch date!
