McFarlane Toys for April, Wonder Woman 1984 and Arkham Figs

I covered DC for C506 at Toy Fair New York back in February. This year, for the first time ever, my coverage brought me to the McFarlane Toys booth, for their DC Multiverse launched in January. Years prior, I still appreciated McFarlane very much. They just hadn’t been doing DC.

Until now!

I happened to score two interviews this year from McFarlane, one with Todd McFarlane himself! And, before Todd, I got a full walkthrough of the DC Multiverse from Chris Hernandez, Marketing Manager at McFarlane Toys.

Chris Hernandez: What’s really exciting is kind of capitalizing off that momentum of  [DC Multiverse] Wave 1. We have some new figures coming out later on this year.

CH (continued): It’s going to start off with Wonder Woman, from the 1984 Wonder Woman movie that’s coming out soon.

BD: Yes!

CH: She will be available in two versions: She’ll have her classic, iconic outfit and with that, she’ll have two versions of the golden lasso; one that’s kind of unraveled and ready to go and the other one that’s kind of coiled up so you can have it attached to the waist.

We’ll also have the Wonder Woman available in the Golden Armor suit as she displays in the movie, with posable wings and a flight stand, so you can have some really cool poses with that.

CH (continued): Then, we’re going to have the McFarlane Toys debut of the Joker, from the Arkham Asylum video game. He’s going to come with two chattering teeth accessories as well as a blaster pistol.

And, then, also along with Joker, we have Batman from the Arkham Asylum video game. He’ll have a Batarang, a grappling gun, smoke bomb; cool accessories.

BD: The detail on those are great.

CH: Yea, really awesome detail, and I think we encapsulated the game look fairly accurately.

So, WW 1984 and Arkham Asylum kick off Wave 2 this month, for McFarlane’s DC Multiverse of figs. Stay tuned for more Toy Fair reveals and fall 2020 releases from McFarlane!

Along with my C506 coverage, I also brought my podcasts/Youtube channels to NY Toy Fair as well: DC Collecticast and Above and Batman BeyondSubscribe there for more coverage of McFarlane’s Multiverse!
